ā° The Ministry of Time, Kaliane Bradley
This time travel sci-fi/romance/spy thriller/workplace drama was so close to being amazing. The tone was funny and the concept was incredible ā the British government tries to assimilate expats from different centuries into modern life via an employee buddy system ā BUT it was trying to do too much. The middle felt jumbled (and oddly slow?), and I think the whole book had a bit of an identity crisis. 3/5, because it was the most unique title Iāve read this year!
š¦The Familiar, Leigh Bardugo
This was my third Leigh Bardugo book, and she didnāt disappoint. It started slow, but my queen always delivers a haunting and magical atmosphere. Ultimately, I came for the spooky vibes and stayed for the love story. 4/5
